Why This Works
Your brain doesn’t remember facts. It remembers feelings.
“Family owned and operated” → forgettable. “Family owned since disco was in style” → stops the scroll.
Same fact. Completely different impact. The only difference? Emotion.
This worksheet walks you through turning up to five of your own features or benefits into emotional stories your customers will actually remember.
The Formula
Quick-Swap Examples
| Boring (Before) | Emotional (After) |
|---|---|
| “Family owned and operated” | “Family owned since disco was in style” |
| “Open 24 hours” | “We have people on the night shift so you’re always covered” |
| “Licensed and bonded since 1989” | “We’ve been protecting homeowners since shoulder pads were a personality” |
| “Fast turnaround” | “We know you needed this yesterday — so we act like it” |
| “Locally owned” | “Your money stays here, in this town, in this community” |

Your Turn
The Emotion Check: Before you post anything, ask yourself: Does this make someone feel something? (Nostalgia. Warmth. A laugh. Relief. That “oh, that’s exactly me” recognition.)
✅ If YES → post it.
❌ If NO → run it through the formula one more time.
The best stories don’t make YOU the hero. They make your CUSTOMER the hero — and you’re the one who helped them get there. Every post is an audition. The audience decides if you get the callback.
